BIBLICAL FINANCIAL LIVING

FREED-UP FINANCIAL LIVING

The Good Sense Course, now called " Freed-Up Financial Living," is a biblically based  financial curriculum.  The "Freed-Up" curriculum outlines biblical essentials on earning, living, saving, spending, and reducing debt, while providing practical tips to help participants achieve their own financial, personal and spiritual goals.  Course materials cost is only $15.   If you would like to gain financial freedom from a biblical perspective, in these trying  economic times, this is the course for you!  Join us on Sunday mornings from 9:30 - 10:30  for 5 weeks starting October 26 and ending on November 23, 2008.   Please sign up on the bulletin board or contact the church office.  If you have previously taken the course "Good Sense," this new financial curriculum is a great refresher course with additional information to help in today's volatile economic conditions

Lincoln's Revival October 18-21, 2008

Lincoln will be in Revival October 18-21. Our Theme is "Building, Nurturing and Growing Congregational Relationships."  Revival is the time to renew, revive and restore your relationship with God.

There are many exciting things going on here at Lincoln.  As we move forward, we want to do as it says in Ephesians 4:12:  "to prepare God's people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up."

Our revival Preacher this year is Dr. Frank Portee, III., an excellent preacher/teacher.

Rev. Doctor Frank Portee, III

Dr. Portee is a native of the Carolinas. He is the Pastor of The Church of the Good Shepherd UMC in Willingboro, NJ. He was the former Senior Pastor of the Church of the Redeemer (PC-USA) in South Central Los Angeles since 1999. He has served United Methodist congregations in Orangeburg and Charleston, South Carolina, in addition to Southern California, for more than 15 years.

He served as the Director of Empowerment and Organizing for Interfaith Impact on Capitol Hill; the Executive Secretary for African American Ministries and National Shalom Coordinator for the General Board of Global Ministries-UMC in New York City. His skill set includes the discipline of socio-theological ethics with a focus on urban politics, congregational transformation and community-based organizing. He is the founder of the Pacific Institute of Word and Witness that sponsors the Annual African American Pastors Conference.
